Tripoli: Speaking to AFP the rebel troops mentioned that the ex-president and leader Maomer Gaddafi is suspected to be in Libiya and the rebels have given time till Saturday evening for Gaddafi and allied troops to surrender and hand over the power.
Omari Hariri, the head of military forces told AFP in Tripoli that " The information I have says that there is 80 per cent chance that Gaddafi is still in Libiya". He also added that the former chief is incapable of doing any harm to the rebels who are currently strong in the country. Hariri said that rebels suspect him to be at Bani Walid, South-east of Tripoli or on the outskirts of the capital. He also added that the city is in war and the information changes rapidly.
"We think he is in Libiya" said Ahmad Darrad, who is in charge of monitoring the interior affairs of the country until the new government is in power. "It is our right to kill him" he added, while speaking to AFP.
"He is killing us, he is a criminal and all around the world if a criminal doesn't surrender by himself then it is the responsibility of the law enforcers to hunt him down" Darrad continued.
Earlier, Ali Tarhuni, one of the highest ranking members of the rebels' National Transitional Council (NTC), hinted to reporters that they knew where the former leader is hiding but refused to give any details.
Catching Gaddafi is the primary goal of the rebels and they are also working on negotiations on for the surrender of regime loyalists in Sirte, hometown of the strongman.
